Fallow Deer (Dama Dama)
Fallow deer are native to Mediterranean Europe and Southwest Asia with the first introduction of a fallow deer to the Czech lands dating to the mid 1400's.
The male is 1m tall and weighs around 80Kg and the female is about 90cm tall and weighs about 45Kg.
The colour of the Fallow Deer varies from almost white to dark brown.
Bucks have the very noticable large palmated antlers, which they shed in the late spring.
Rutting takes place in October and the fawns are born during June of the following year.
Hunting Fallow Deer starts on the 1st of August and continues to the 31st of December.
