The Czech Republic is well known around the world for its Carp fishing. The Carp is the favourite fish of most Czech people and is also the traditional meat eaten for Christmas dinner.
There are many ponds and rivers which are stocked with many species of Carp, such as the Mirror Carp, Leather Carp, Cruscian Carp, Grass Carp and of course the Common Carp.
All the ponds used for carp are fed by small streams and have sand bottoms which ensure the water and the fish are in pristine condition.
While the majority of carp in the Czech Republic are fairly small by carp standards, due to the fact that they end up on most peoples dinner plates, there are still many specimen standard fish which are well worth the wait and the fight.
