Catfish in the Czech Republic grow to be monsters. There are many reservoirs and ponds as well as deep river basins that have some extra-ordinary catfish.

Its is not uncommon for a fisherman fishing for catfish to land a fish measuring in excess of 2 meters although the average is around the 1 meter mark.

The best locations for catfish are the many big reservoirs around the Czech Republic. The most infamous being Orlik Reservoir in Central Bohemia and the Hracholusky and Skala Reservoirs in Western Bohemia.
