We are the world famous as the pioneer of scuba diving with the dolphins in the natural enviroment of the open ocean. Conceived in the late 1980s, our company offered the world's first open ocean dolphin dive in 1990. Interact and dive with the dolphins in the open ocean along a coral reef on this exciting and very unique dive.
The dolphin dive is done in forty five feet of water near a reef. We take a maximum of ten divers on a thirty minute boat ride out to the open ocean out to the reef and have everyone kneel on the ocean floor. A dolphin swims over to a diver and sits in front of the diver. The dolphin's tail fin sits in the sand and you will get several opportunities to touch and interact with the dolphins.
These are our Atlantic Bottle Nose dolphins. The divers will also get to do a "dance with the dolphins" where you get your neutral buoyancy, stick your arm out to the side and the dolphin puts his nose in the palm of your hand and spins you around. As if dancing was not enough you will also do a "dolphin kiss" where you take your regulator out of your mouth and the dolphin kisses you.
You are usually in the water thirty to forty five minutes. Then everyone swims with the dolphins back to the boat. You can bring your own underwater camera or video to take photos. There will also be a professional photographer taking stills of your experience while scuba diving with dolphins. The dolphin dive is offered only two days out of the week, Wednesday and Saturday at 9:00am. The dive from start to finish is approximately three hours and your bottom time is thirty to forty five minutes.
This dive requires an open water certification and your card need to be presented when checking in at the dive store. You must be at least ten years old to dive and an adult must dive with children ten to thirteen years old.
