We are a world-class Alaska fishing resort on Hummingbird Island, just a five-minute boat ride from historic Sitka in southeast Alaska. Our pristine 5-acre island lays footing for private waterfront cabins. An illuminated boardwalk encircles the island, connecting the cabins, docks and the dining/meeting facility.
This Alaska fishing lodge was also built on the island's shoreline and overlooks scenic Sitka Sound. Consider dining or meeting in this glass surrounded facility for views of the Alaska you've always imagined.
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the Sitka Sound area has the best King Salmon fishing catch rate in southeastern Alaska. Our experienced Alaska fishing guides will take you to the fish and get them on your line. Sitka Sound is an important feeding area for big King Salmon, which can grow to over 70 pounds. Sitka Sound Salmon are still in their prime, feisty and hard-fighting. The best Alaska King Salmon fishing occurs in May, June and July.
In mid to late summer, silver Salmon become even more prolific than their bigger cousins. Mature Silvers in this area of Alaska fishing can grow to around 20 pounds. They hit hard, fight like tigers, and make excellent table fare. The limit for Silvers is generous so they provide excellent Alaska sport fishing opportunities. Silver Salmon, also known as Coho, are commonly caught in July, August and September.
Bottom fish such as Halibut, Ling Cod and Red Snapper are also abundant in our area of Alaska fishing. Going deep for these excellent tasting varieties has become as popular as Alaska Salmon fishing. Alaska Halibut up to 300 pounds are caught occasionally, and large numbers of smaller fish are available. These Alaska fish bite well through the late spring, summer and early fall. We provide all needed equipment, including top quality Alaska fishing boats, rods, reels, and baits.
Not only the fishing is terrific, but also there is an array of other activities for sightseeing on or off the water. As the capital of Russian Alaska, Sitka is rich with history.
