You are in for a vigorous and very interesting week when you will have to prove your right to be the holder of your first internationally recognized scuba diving certificate: PADI Open Water Diver. It is an intensive schedule focused mainly on the real diving practices, which start immediately at the very beginning of the course and is done in five consecutive training sessions in so-called confined water environment during which you will be exercising more than 20 diving skills – individual and in buddy team executed ones. All those skills, thereafter, you will repeatedly master under the direct instructor’s supervision in specific sequence participating in four open water scuba training dives conducted to a maximum depth of 18 meters in the Black sea – an ideal location for consistent and high-performance diving training given the circumstances of sometimes abruptly changing water conditions.
The academic training is focused mainly on basic knowledge and safety principles which you need to possess for this level of training and it is also divided in five modules closely corresponding to the related practical sessions described above. The course also comprises diving theory discussions with the instructor and diving skills demonstrations, five video presentations, proper diving equipment selection and maintenance workshops, written quizzes and knowledge reviews, swimming test of no competitive value and a final written examination. To be able to accomplish successfully all course requirements, you will need to follow strictly our tuition and recommendations for about five consecutive days of training starting at 08.30 am till 05.00 pm. The program schedule could be shorter sometimes, but it depends entirely of your performance achieving the course’s goals. However, it will be wise if you plan one day extra in case of unforeseen bad sea conditions or if you progress slower throughout your training for some reason. You need also to do properly your self study preparation by reading the Open Water Diver manual we may currently present to you in the following languages – Russian, English, German and Norwegian. Juniors between the ages of 10 and 15 can acquire the same level of diving training, but in adapted for the purpose conditions under the PADI Junior Open Water Diver version. You have to consider only one prerequisite to participate in the course – you must to be able to demonstrate sufficient swimming abilities and in-water comfortable behavior by taking none-stop swimming through a distance of 200 meters (time performance irrelevant) and immediately afterwards to perform 10 minutes surface float in deep water without the use of any swimming or other kind of supporting equipment. As a result of yours successfully course accomplishment you will be awarded with individual PADI Open Water Diver certificate – the most worldwide recognizable scuba ID. This will prove that you are capable person to conduct scuba dives to 18 meters maximum (the deep water barrier established internationally) or to rent scuba diving equipment according to the local governmental regulations applied in the country’s territory you visit. Notes: Underwater sports require specific program time and actions. Preliminary organizing is highly recommendable.
