Our company offers the best of fly fishing in Western Maryland. We float the North Branch of the Potomac from below Jennings Randolf dam to Cumberland, Maryland starting as a trout fishery and ending as a Bass fishery down stream. There are 5 different float trips along that section averaging 5 to 9 miles long. Over night Bass trips are available. I also wade fish the upper North Branch of the Potomac for trout in the 9 mile long Delayed Harvest area in Potomac State Forest.

The Youghiogheny is another great fishery, with 3 different areas to fish. The 4 mile long Catch and Release area from Hoyes Run to Sang Run is a great place for the beginner to "get their feet wet" in the sport of fly fishing. It is a wide, fairly shallow river with lots of eager trout. The next section is the Delayed Harvest area in the town of Friendsville, over 2 miles long with some great water, this is another good place for the beginner. The last section of the Youghiogheny is across the border in PA. It is a 10 mile float trip on the middle Yough from Confluence to Ohiopyle. This is a very large river and is sometimes hard to fish because of the volume of water coming out of the dam.

The Savage River is a beautiful free stone/tailwater brown and brook trout fishery, above the Savage River dam it is a small freestone stream holding native Brook trout in the mainstem and it tributaries. Below the dam the wild Brown trout rule! This is probably the prettiest rivers in the area, but it can be difficult to wade and fish due to the slippery rocks and clear flow. The Casselman River is another Delayed Harvest river that I guide on. The 4 mile section from Grantsville to the PA line is a great early season fishery due to it's low gradient that allows the the water to go up and down quickly after rain or snow melt. The Casselman is stocked with some very nice Rainbows and Browns and is easy to wade and access.

I offer 1/2 day float trips on the delayed Harvest section of the Youghiogheny River, Full day float trips on the Youghiogheny River in PA, All the lower sections of the North Branch of the Potomac, and over night float trips on the lower Bass sections of the North Branch of the Potomac. I also offer 1/2 day and Full day wade trips on the Savage, Youghiogheny, Casselman, and the upper sections of the North Branch of the Potomac. Depending on the flows and which section of river we are fishing I use a 13 foot inflatable raft with a fishing platform or my HPDE drift boat. Both accommodate 2 anglers. Equipment can be provided, lunch on full day trips is included, as are flies.
