The Lodge employs the very best guides in the Taupo and the central north island area with an average experience of 15 plus years including experienced Head Guide Tim McCarthy. Over 30 rivers and 3 lakes are enjoyed by the lodges guided Anglers annually. Tongariro lodge provides boats, 4 wheel drive vehicles, rafts and helicopters to access these rivers.

Over 40 day wilderness Helicopter beats are available from the lodge and the lodge has acquired special access to these waters, these rivers represent some of the best wilderness rivers in the world. The lodge is right on the banks of the legendary Tongariro River the most famous trout fishing river in New Zealand where in a good year over 40,000.00 rainbows will enter the river from lake Taupo.
