Our Dive Center is located in Palmas Del Mar, an upscale resort area in the Humacao region of Eastern Puerto Rico that has some 35 dive sites in a 5-mile (8km) radius off the shore. Overhangs, caverns and tunnels perch in 55 feet of water along the 2 mile-long (3 km) Basslet Reef System, where dolphins visit throughout the Spring season.
The Cracks, a jigsaw of caves, alleyways, and boulders, hosts an abundance of goby cleaning stations and a numerous lobster hideouts. With visibility often exceeding 100 feet, The Reserve offers a clear look at a multitude of corals. At Islands in the Sand, divers float with nurse sharks and angelfish into a valley of swim-throughs and ledges.
Palmas del Mar has intermediate to advanced dive spots, the dive depths range from 40 - 120 feet. There are 35 different dive spots some of which include swim through caverns, a ledge and a small wall visibility commonly ranges from 40 to 100 feet. For the morning 2 tank trip we need the divers to be at the dive shop in Palmas del Mar at 8:30 and the boat leaves at 09:00 and returns back to the marina at about 12:30.
For the afternoon 1 tank trip we need the divers to be at the dive shop in Palmas del Mar at 1:30 pm and the boat leaves at 2:00 pm and returns to the marina about 4:30. We also offer round trip transportation from the metro to Palmas Del Mar. The location is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from the metro.
If you don't have the opportunity to take a full certification class at home due to time, weather, or access to local dive sites, the PADI Referral Certification is the way to go! After completing your classroom and confined water pool dives back home, come to the warm waters of Puerto Rico where on each of your four check out dives we will take you to a different exciting dive site!
