Chamonix, France this is the birthplace of alpine climbing. It is also the most famous climbing center in the world, for good reason, the mountains here are breathtaking with an abundance of mountains and routes unparallel elsewhere in the world. A week of climbing in Chamonix allows for an excellent introduction to the Alps or for the returning climber a chance to try other classic climbs missed on the first trip.
