We are located in the small indigenous town of Pastocalle along the Avenue of the Volcanoes. It is a great place to acclimatize at 3200 meters (10,498 feet) before climbing Ilinizas, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo or Corazon. Here we are working to develop community tourism where we enjoy the beauty of the region while at the same time helping the community grow.
We suggest the following combination of climbing trips to better increase your chances of having successful climbs. The rest days are the perfect opportunity to enjoy one of our cultural tours.
Low Experience:
- Day 1: Iliniza Thermal Spa Trek
- Day 2: Iliniza Norte
- Day 3: Rest
- Day 4: Cotopaxi Climb.
Mid Level Experience:
- Day 1: Iliniza Thermal Spa Trek
- Day 2: Rest day
- Day 3: Pasochoa Climb
- Day 4: Corazon Climb.
High Level Experience:
- Day 1: Iliniza Norte
- Day 2: Rest
- Day 3: Cotopaxi Climb
- Day 4: Rest
- Day 5: Chimborazo Climb.
We recommend that you bring the following items when climbing Pasochoa, Corazon, and Iliniza Norte:
- Warm clothing (non cotton clothing is best for climbing)
- Hiking boots
- Gloves/ Hat
- Waterproof jacket and pants
- Small backpack
- Sunglasses
- Camera
- Suntan Lotion
- Water
- Snacks.
We recommend you bring the following items when climbing Iliniza Sur, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo:
- Warm clothing
- Glove liners
- Hat
- Waterproof jacket and pants
- Small backpack (to carry on climb)
- Large backpack (to carry gear to the refuge)
- Sleeping bag
- Head lamp
- Sunglasses
- Camera
- Suntan lotion
- Water
- Snacks.
In addition to our tours, we also offer food and lodging at our hosteria. The cabins have a rustic design. Built in the style of our ancestors, they are ecofriendly and also preserve our traditions. This style of indigenous living helps bring a unique experience to your stay in Ecuador. The cabins are located beside the lodge which has a kitchen, bar, fireplace, pool table, internet, television, and a library of information about Ecuador. Our lodge has a kitchen in which we prepare breakfast and dinner daily. Breakfast can be ordered ala carte while dinner is served family style, and a vegetarian option is always available. With advance notice we can prepare a traditional Ecuadorian meal for you.
