PADI Open Water - How does it work?
The PADI Open Water Diver course is extremely flexible and can be complete in may ways. We have tried to explain this to you within these few pages. If you are unsure of anything please email us as we have all the information and would love to help you become a new PADI Diver. We will get back to you within 24 hours of any email you send us, or we would be happy to call you. The first step for the Open Water course is to choose your independent study option.
With the Open Water course you can either get the PADI materials from us and study in your own time before the course starts, or you can choose the eLearning option that allows you to study in your own time in your home country, prior to arriving in Bali. Day one involves us picking you up from your hotel and bringing you to our dive center where you will spend three days completing your scuba lessons. With the independent learning options the course can be done in three days as we only take small groups for the course. You should be prepared to have an extra day though if needed.
One this first day we will check your independent study before jumping into the confined water (pool) sessions. On this day we will go through five confined water sessions that will teach you all the scuba skills that you need in order to be a competent and safe PADI diver. Sometimes people need more time which we make available for them at no extra charge; this is our dedication to you. Day two and three involve going for four dives.
Each day we will take you for two open water training dives where you will show the Instructor that you have mastered the skills you learnt in the pool. Once you have completed all the skills then your Instructor will sign your logbook and complete your PADI certification. Will will give you a temporary certification card and then you can expect your permanent certification card about 3 weeks later as this is posted out direct from PADI.
PADI Open Water - Where will I dive?
During the PADI Open Water Diver course we dive in some great places. The most popular locations for the open water dives are at Padang Bai and Tulamben. Both of these locations offer excellent diving with so much marine life and healthy coral reefs. We also dive in Sanur when the conditions are very good and our customers need more time with other components of the course.
