Along with outstanding big game hunting for elk, mule deer, cougar, bear, sheep, and goat, this is some of the most beautiful and scenic country imaginable. Elk and deer tags are sold on a quote system here, thus guaranteeing you a tag if purchased early. The outfitter will purchase your tag and license for your convenience. Deer and elk hunts are conducted out of a pack in base camp in remote, roadless areas. The camps are comfortable, wall tents with wood burning stoves. Camps are limited to four hunters. This ranch holds exclusive outfitting rights to over 740,000 acres of the Clearwater and Nez Perce National Forests under special use permit from the US Forest Service. Combined with their 4,200 acres, the ranch offers its guests one of the largest land concessions in the state of Idaho for hunting elk, whitetail, mule deer, black bear, turkey, cougar, bobcat, moose and mixed bag bird hunting.
Whitetail and mule deer hunts are conducted both at the ranch and in the backcountry camps. Accommodations for ranch hunts are at the main lodge. These hunts sell out every year, so book early to secure your spot. Backcountry hunts are conducted from the deluxe hunting camps, where they've done everything to prepare for you a comfortable, successful hunt. Whitetail season is from October 10 to November 20 and mule deer season is October 10 to November 3.
The mule deer hunt is a short but exceptionally exciting one for this outfitter. They have a special hunting area picked out for this particular five days. Their experience in the area has proven that the mule deer concentration is highest in this special area at the exact time the season begins. There is nothing more awe inspiring than a large mule deer buck in your sights. They will work very hard to see that you have this experience and are successful. You will set out for camp via 4x4 vehicles. Horses are saddled and packed at the first camp, located eight miles up Hull Creek Road. Seven miles on horseback (approx. 3 hours) ends at Grizzly Spring base camp. Tents are set up in advance in accordance with Forest Service regulations. 3-6 person tents are for sleeping, stocked with foam mats on cots and one large tent houses the cooking and dining accommodations. All tents are heated with wood stoves to keep the chill out. Guides take hunters out on foot in the morning and again in the early evening. Most hunting takes place within 1-2 miles of camp.
