Your guide will seek out wildlife and it is common to see puffins, sea lion rookeries, porpoises, and many types of whales including gray, humpbacks, and orcas. Photo opps abound and time is well spent enjoying the wonders of nature. On land, Sitka blacktail deer, wolves, mink, and martens are commonly spotted, as well as black bears making their way to salmon streams. Birds common to this area include loons, herons, kingfisher, Stellar Jay, tern and the majestic Bald Eagle. In the later part of the season the air resounds with calls from Canadian Geese in flight. Before you explore, the resort staff will point out interesting highlights and advise you of any cautionary measures you need.
