This is one of the top destinations in all of Alaska for corporate retreats. The Resort can host groups up to 92 persons. It is also a great destination for your favorite client, or your family group.
Sport fishing
Along the West Coast of Prince of Wales Island, extreme tides and surging ocean currents create a habitat for millions of bait fish that attract annual returns of trophy-size salmon, halibut, red snapper, and ling cod. These natural phenomena, which first attracted commercial fishermen, offer premier fishing grounds in Alaska for some of the best salmon and halibut sport fishing in the world.
Our resort’s staff of 25 guides is Coast Guard certified, CPR trained, and efficient, patient instructors who work well with all levels of guests' fishing abilities. They compare daily fishing information for locating specific species and will inform you of the current salmon runs and halibut catches. Together you will plan your daily fishing activities. You don't have to be an experienced fisherman to enjoy fishing at this Resort. The guide baits your hook and in no time the calm is broken by excited shouts of "fish on"! Waterproof boots, bib overalls, and hooded jackets are provided for comfort and are available in all sizes. A full line of fishing tackle including high-performance J. Loomis rods and Penn reels with Maxima line and Eagle Claw hooks are in our gear line-up. Bait is stocked by the guide on each cabin cruiser, selected for the species of fish you'll catch that day.
Accommodations/Meals
The resort can host up to 92 guests per day. Packages include waterfront cabins or lodge rooms, both with private baths. For an additional fee, upgrades are available for a two bedroom waterfront townhouse suite that sleeps four and has a complete kitchen, tubspa, washer/dryer, and wood-burning fire -place. We are known for our excellent food. Meals are served in the guest dining room overlooking
Ulloa Channel. All entrees, breads, pastries, soups and salads are prepared fresh daily by our professional chef, Stuart, and his staff. Any guest medically required to have a special diet can be accommodated with 30 days notice prior to arrival.
Other Activities
Prince of Wales Island and our resort offer incredible opportunities to learn about the Tongass National Forest. Wildlife is abundant in our part of the world and the best opportunity for viewing marine life is from the boat. Your guide will seek out wildlife and it is common to see puffins, sea lion rookeries, porpoises, and many types of whales including gray, humpbacks, and orcas. Photo opps abound and time is well spent enjoying the wonders of nature.
On land, Sitka blacktail deer, wolves, mink, and martens are commonly spotted, as well as black bears making their way to salmon streams. Birds common to this area include loons, herons, kingfisher, Stellar Jay, tern and the majestic Bald Eagle. In the later part of the season the air resounds with calls from Canadian Geese in flight. Before you explore, the resort staff will point out interesting highlights and advise you of any cautionary measures you need.
