We hunt Eastern Da gestan Tur (Capra Cylindricornis) in Azerbaijan territory of Caucasus mountains. Really the Tur hunt is very interesting and it stays on wild nature. There are 3 types of Turs in world- Eastern Tur, Mid-Asian Tur and Kuban Tur. Eastern Tur is biggest trophy between them conc erning length and wide, hunters can complete other 2 Turs hunt in Russia with us also. So principal specie in Azerbaijan is Eastern Dagestan Tur. Hunting season- June through December. Skin hair quality is better from August to December but hunt is easier from June to September. Hair quality is better since August to December, but snow is expected for this months. December is the beginning of breeding time.
Name of hunting area is Babadag area in Caucasus Mountains closed to Guba region. Most of SCI records belong to this area, foreign hunters hunt in this place since 1966 year. We arrive to this area with 4x4 jeeps. Tur hunt is required physical condition if the hunter wants to hunt with stalking. If any hunter hasn't good physical condition then we make driven hunt to have the hunt easily for him/her. But as we see always international sheep hunters all climb very good not depending on age, of course may be it is possible that some hunters have not good physical conditions also. We take care for our clients' hunt and we have 12 guides for each hunt. Sometimes hunters hunt 1x2, sometimes 1x5, we discuss it while hunting position and animals situation and we do not charge hunters for quantity of guides.
Hunt altitude changes between 2500-3500 meters, the highest peak in Babadag area is 3629 m. Sometimes hunt takes place in altitudes of up to 3,500 meters (11,000 ft.). Our hunting house stays in 2000 m altitude. Transportation during the hunt is mostly on foot. Hunters must bring mountain boots, gaiters, sleeping bag, sun glasses, rain gear. Shots are expected at around 200-300 meters. Horses can be used in Azerbaijan. Best flight is Lufthansa or Turkish airlines to Baku international airport.
