Tour Itineraries:
First Option. Deep in the heart of the Green Mountains near where Robert Frost's last Vermont home we cover the many trails of the Green Mountain National Forest's remote Moosalamoo Region and nearby. We visit the poet laureate's cabin where recitation of one of his famous poems has been spontaneously known to occur. The views alternate of mountains like Bread Loaf and Romance, and of overlooks or forest and fields. We also visit secluded Silver Lake for a nice loop. Our lodging is at the famous Blueberry Hill Inn, set in the center of the forest, where good food awaits after a lively happy hour, and a warm fire at night glows. Second Option. Centered in Stowe, with many fine trails that take us to wonderful mountain views, woods and waterfalls. We walk the trails at Trapp Family Lodge, snowshoe at the base of Smuggler's Notch, and visit spectacular Moss Glen Falls, among just a few of the activities. This area will take your breath away! Perched on a hillside looking out at Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak, we stay at the Stowehof Inn & Resort, where you can relax in the living room by a warm fire. We visit Stowe Village with it's famous church spire (highest in New England), visit a cider press, and dine out at some of the area's fine restaurants. Third Option. In the heart of the legendary Northeast Kingdom we explore the Kingdom Trails of East Burke with spectacular views of Burke Mountain, and the rolling hills of Greensboro and Craftsbury. Our comfortable lodgings are in East Burke at the famous Inn at Mountain View Farm and in Greensboro at Highland Lodge, one of the oldest Nordic skiing centers in America. Notes:
