We operate expeditionary style travel. This means each self-formed group (yes, even for as few as one or two people) have their own dedicated leader. Our leaders are well educated and great athletes. They are walking encyclopedias on everything from animals and plants to history, geology, social issues.
Our leaders suggest the best food for our guests, saddles their horses, holds their hands while they are overcoming a fear of heights, and just about everything between. They also drive the luxury Land Cruisers we use throughout the trip.
Our big, beefy vehicles are comfortable and versatile - allowing access to places closed to buses and minivans. The combination of private adventures, private equipment, excellent guides and leaders, plus the go-anywhere vehicles means we can do things with you that wouldn't be possible in a "day tour" style of travel, or a group of 10-30 other people with varied skills, abilities, and interests. It is this combination of private activities, great guides, access to places closed to the masses that creates both great discovery and security.
Our customized itineraries include lodging and all food (right down to your choice of snack food and beverages during the drives, and loads of fresh fruits and interesting restaurants with your option of anything on the menu - not restricted choices from a special "tour bus" menu), our very comfortable luxury 4 WD vehicles, and real adventures.
We happily use every good hotel in Costa Rica, and design your trip according to their proximity to the adventures we offer privately, and your hotel style preferences, rather than making decisions based on hotel commissions.
We enjoy sharing the diverse natural inhabitants and biodiversity of Costa Rica with you - the cloud forest, mountainous streams and rain forest, beaches, and the active volcanoes, and we design trips keeping diversity as a priority.

Activities we operate privately: horseback (from beginner to advanced expert), naturalist float trip, white water rafting, white water duckies, white water kayaking, naturalist observation platform in primary forest, hiking in private trails and National parks, cloud forest exploration, hot air ballooning, mountain biking, canyoning, private 4x4 exploration (and access to places closed to standard vehicles).
Activities we subcontract to operators we trust (with private departures): canopy zip lines, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, surfing, paragliding, butterfly gardens.
Activities we arrange (during an expedition): hot springs and spa treatments, golf, day sailing cruises, coffee tours, chocolate tours, bird zoo, aerial trams, wind surfing, para sailing, culture trips, indigenous villages.
