The Bridger Teton National Forest was our nations very first National Forest and is still one of the largest and wildest in the US. Most of Wyoming's' tallest mountains are located here and 6 of the largest 7 glaciers in the contiguous 48 states are also here. The Bridger Wilderness area has over 1,300 lakes and over 1,000 are known to have trout. We have six types of trout and arctic Grayling. Four of the states fish records come from this area along with the World Record Golden Trout. Come and see why this area inspired the very first National Forest policy.
On all of our Walk on the Winds Trips, we hike up into the World Famous Wind River Mountain Range and deep into the Bridger Wilderness area. We pick up the Highline trail which follows along the continental divide for the length of the range. We will rise above timberline and cross several passes.
Each of our carefully picked campsites is in such a beautiful spot you'll agree that each is better than any postcard or calendar picture. You will enjoy excellent meals, many of which are prepared in Dutch ovens, while watching the sun set upon the glaciated peaks. Almost every client we have had is completely amazed at the quality of our camp fare. We are constantly bribed for our recipes. (We never give one up, you'll have to come back)
Most of our campsites are by alpine Lakes. The fishermen in your group will not be disappointed.
