3 Day Hike/Raft Trip:

Description: If you'd like to spend more time in the wilderness, but don't want to be in the raft every day of the trip, then this adventure is for you. Picture yourself drifting along one of Glacier's Wild and Scenic rivers. Looking deep into the forest and passing an occasional meadow ablaze with wildflowers. Searching the rocks that line the river's edge and the mountains that rise above for nature's hidden story. Hearing only the water rushing over the rocks and the occasional splash of whitewater. There's a whitetail with this year's fawn or maybe a moose or an elk. Whether the mode of the day is dangling your toes in the crystal clear water or helping paddle the boat, it's a great escape for everyone. On this trip you'll spend 2 nights camping along the Middle Fork of the Flathead River, and you'll be floating the more secluded stretches during the first half of the trip. You'll quickly get accustomed to life on the river. An average day's float is 15 miles of spectacular scenery and wildlife. Merganser ducks, osprey, deer and mountain goats are common. Each night your guide will pick a scenic spot along the river to set up camp. Camping along the banks of the river provides the setting for a peaceful night's sleep, and there's nothing like waking up to one of those Montana breakfasts. Our jovial guides will keep you well fed with a smile on your face. You'll probably wonder if it's time for a change in your life and inquire about job opportunities as a river guide. On the second day, you'll be ready to leave the boat for most of the day to hike up into one of the drainages of the Park. Depending on what kind of a hike you prefer you'll be able to enjoy lunch by one of the lakes or on top of a mountain overlooking the river. On the last day you'll be rafting through the John Stevens Canyon which has most of the white water. Be sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting wet since the rapids are rated class II and III providing a fun and splashy adventure.

5 Day Hike/Raft:

Description: This trip combines our 3 day backpacking trip with our two day raft trip. The trip includes a motel stay to freshen up between the backpacking and the rafting. First part of trip- Backpacking. (Days 1, 2 and 3)

The three-day backpacking trip offers a taste of Glacier's backcountry. Even though we can't give you an exact itinerary for your particular trip, many of these trips are in the Two Medicine Area since several short loops originate here in the southeastern corner of Glacier. We'll spend our days in subalpine and alpine meadows amongst Glacier's towering peaks. All of the camps in this area are located on lakes or streams. Distances covered on our 3-day hikes range from 6-8 miles per day and may involve some elevation gain but these trips are geared toward those with little or no backpacking experience and moderate conditioning. These trips are a great introduction to backpacking or perfect for those with limited time to venture into wilds of Glacier for a memorable backcountry adventure. On the third day we return to West Glacier around 4 or 5 PM, unpack, and drop you off at the Glacier Highland Hotel where you can unwind and relax in the comforts of the hotel.

Rafting:
Day 5 & 6 - We will meet at 9 am and pack our gear for rafting. Enjoy the next 2 days floating and camping along the banks of the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Flathead River. This river forms the boundary between Glacier National Park and the Flathead National Forest. Flora and fauna abound on it's banks making this one of the most scenic areas in America. While floating the river you may dangle your feet in the cool mountain waters and challenge the most exciting white water around. In camp you'll enjoy dining on our fine cuisine and staring up at the star-filled skies. Check the 2-day raft trip description for more details.

Glacier's backcountry and the Wild and Scenic Middle Fork of the Flathead River are truly places touched by magic and we look forward to sharing them with you.
