Skopea Liman is a cruiser's paradise and is one of the very few places in the world where you can experience "flat water sailing" in a yacht. The bay is about 12 miles long and surrounded by islands which keep the sea swells out, but not the breeze. This means that you can achieve good speeds through the water without the normal wave action.

Skopea Liman has the additional advantage of being surrounded by numerous little coves and bays in which to anchor for lunch or for the night, most of them having their own little bar or restaurant.

Gocek Town - situated at the foot of an enclosed valley, the town itself is just a short taxi ride (or shorter ferry ride) from Club Marina and is full of good bars and restaurants. It is also a good place for souvenirs and the shopping is a much more leisurely experience than in Fetiyeh or Marmaris.

Boynuz Buku - Steep sided and with numerous small anchorages, this horn shaped bay is lined with pines trees, storax, oleander and papyrus (although not all at the same time). Most days, a good breeze makes it good for windsurfing. It also has a restaurant.

Kapi Creek - This narrow bay is surrounded by pines and olives. We can moor stern to at the jetty by the restaurant, or, if it's too crowded, just round the corner in Merdivenli Cove where the water is cleaner too. If you are lucky, you might get to meet Murat, "hetman" of the nearby village, whose wife makes beautiful bread and beautiful carpets.

Tomb Bay (or Taskaya) - In addition to the pines and oleanders, the sides of this bay are lined with Carian and Lycian tombs and mausolea carved into the rock. There is also evidence of the ancient city of Crya in among the trees. If the sailing here has been too hairy, you'll be glad to know that the restaurant here also has a Turkish barber and masseur. A "must visit".
