We have taught a 3 day rock climbing course for Regis College in Denver for years. They offer it to their students for physical education credit. We enjoy the program and students never fail to have a great time. For younger students, Bridge School in Boulder has sent a group aged 8 to 13 out with us the past several summers for 5-day courses with great success. It is particularly fun for us to see how well students at this young age take to climbing.
Our rock groups meet by special arrangement. We offer rock climbing lessons year-round in the Boulder, Colorado area. Although Boulder is famous for summer rock climbing, its mild winters make climbing quite pleasant year-round. Autumn is especially beautiful with sunny days and fewer climbers. We also offer lessons in other areas.
Group lessons - are for beginners and are scheduled at set times. Group size is 4 to 6 students. Groups offer basic instruction and climbing practice and are less expensive than regular lessons. Time and place - is by arrangement, usually at 8 a.m. Previous experience - is not required for beginning lessons. For more advanced instruction or guided climbs students should be familiar with fundamental climbing techniques.
* What to Bring:
We provide all technical equipment including helmets, rock shoes, and harnesses. Students are encouraged to bring any of their own equipment they wish to use.
* Required Equipment:
- Approach shoes (light hiking or jogging shoes for walking to the climbs).
* Rugged comfortable, loose-fitting clothing appropriate for the season.
* Water.
* Suggested Items:
- UV protective sun glasses or glacier goggles.
- Sun screen.
- Food or snacks.
- Camera.
