A day trip around one of England's most beautiful areas - one which inspired the Pre-Raphaelites, Jane Austen and the Mitford sisters. We visit Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Moreton-in-Marsh & Woodstock (Blenheim Palace) - Churchill's birthplace. You have plenty of stops on the way to explore the quaint towns and villages and really discover the delights of this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Shakespeare Country and Warwick (Wednesdays 0930 - 1730)
A day trip which meanders through charming ironstone villages to Warwick, home of the Earls of Warwick and one of the finest Medieval castles in Britain. You then continue on to Stratford-upon-Avon and take a walking tour of the town, seeing the houses associated with William Shakespeare. Following a visit to the quaint village of Shotttery, you see the idyllic cottage of Anne Hathaway (Shakespeare's wife), before returning to Oxford via some beautiful countryside.
Cotswold Taster (Sundays 1330 to 1800)
A half-day tour for those who wish to visit he Cotswolds, but do not want to do a full-day tour. You start your journey heading out through Witney and Minster Lovell to the beautiful villages of Ashtall and Swinbrook, where the Mitford sisters lived. We then continue on to Burford, the Gateway to the Cotswolds and Bourton-on--the-Water, with its charming river running through its centre. We then visit Stow-on-the-Wold, the highest town in the Cotswolds, before returning to Oxford via Woodstock, the location of Blenheim Palace (the birthplace of Winston Churchill).
