In the morning, I propose to visit the ‘Essential Old Madrid’, the 16th-17th century Town, centered around the Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. It is a quite compact area to walk. I include activities to arouse and keep kids entertained. The interior of the Royal Palace can be visited, if you like, and we will pass by some interesting old shops. Kids also love “Chocolate con Churros” It is sweet, creamy, delicate and very tasty! Its density helps to drawn funny moustaches that the children clean with their tongues. And, with each bite, the crunches of the strips of fried dough that accompany it tell us that they are freshly made. Madrid serves to you the best chocolate with strips of fried dough.
In the afternoon, I propose to guide you through the Museo del Prado (focusing on masterpieces that are attractive for kids love very much). Then we will visit the Retiro Park, a former Royal garden. It was built in the 17th century as part of a royal complex. Until 1868 it was the exclusive reserve of the aristocracy. Nowadays, it is still the "lungs of Madrid"; few cities can boast such a large park (118 hectares) in such a central location. There's a large pond where kids can take a boat ride. Bikes can also be rented for the park visit. Other suggestions attractive for children are: - The Real Madrid Soccer Club: It is possibly the most famous soccer team in the world for its impressive number of records and prizes. The Stadium and Museum are located in the financial district of the city. The visit will guide us through its history, the trophy room, and we will tread on the stadium hallowed turf and feel overwhelmed by the more than 75000 seats, with their eyes fixed on us. - Teleférico: A cable car from Paseo de Rosales to Casa de Campo (a former Royal hunting park) offers some spectacular views of the western part of the city and the surrounding mountains. The car flies over the city’s river and the beautiful Parque del Oeste with its Rose Garden and a real Egyptian Temple (which can be visited). There is memorable view of the cityscape, as it was immortalized in Goya's paintings, with the Royal Palace, its garden, and the domes and towers of some principal chauches on the background.
