You may start with a home lecture. Imagine being the privileged guest of honor at the home of art historian Drs. Kees Kaldenbach. While sipping a fragrant cup of coffee or tea, you listen to a personalized (private or small-group) lecture and discussion on the astounding visual wonders that Rembrandt has bestowed upon us. Afterwards, a short ride in my private car or 15 minutes by by tram takes us to the nearby Rijksmuseum (additional entry fee). In the museum I will show you the extraordinary quality of both painters. The visual wonders of Rembrandt's technique; contents, brushstrokes, details, composition, color. The way Vermeer handles light and surface textures and above all, their mastery of psychology of how you observe paint and make sense of what they present on their surfaces. Introduction in Dutch, English or German + translations into Japanese or Chinese) are given in plain, accessible language. Thus you will be the beneficiary of tailor made scholar lectures* during your travels. - This lecture is available at times which we mutually agree, 7 days a week. I will show you the key buildings in the troubled story Rembrandt went through in Amsterdam. c) For extra cost per hour: The Royal Collection The Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague, which houses several renowned Rembrandt paintings, including his 'Anatomical Lesson of Dr Tulp'. Three Vermeer paintings may also be studied there, including the wold famous 'View of Delft' and 'Girl with the Pearl Earring'.... Kees Kaldenbach lives and works in Amsterdam and is specialized in European art. As a teacher and public educator he uses lectures and multimedia technology to present a rich tapestry of image information on European art history both for the public at large and for fellow art historians. He has published widely and has designed an important website (2000+ items) on the art of the 17th century Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, as well as on other Delft artists. As a leading expert Kees has collaborated in fine arts television programs by networks such as BBC2, BBC3, CNN, DKR Denmark,NPS Dutch TV, NTV Japan. He has also worked with radio programme makers (RNW Radio Holland). Kaldenbach has also written and published books and many articles on the history of art. With his Amsterdam-based company Private Art Tours, Kees has lectured during well over 200 art tours to groups ranging from 1 to 20 persons. He has also successfully addressed larger audiences.
