Down narrow lanes and anonymous doorways, the East End of London’s contemporary art scene is one of the world’s most vibrant and challenging. Just east of London's financial district, and once a scruffy hinterland, the early 1990s marked the start of a transformation for the East End. Artists and dealers, attracted by low rents and derelict warehouses, moved in to make the neighbourhood their own. Today, it plays a pivotal role in the world’s contemporary art scene.
On the Art Insider tour you will be exposed to the work of emerging talent and established international artists knowingly selected from hundreds of galleries, from the small and intimate to the big and infamous.
The Art Insider half-day tour starts in the hip east end enclave of Hoxton, the epicenter of contemporary bohemia, and continues south. You will explore some of London’s most interesting, innovative and unique gallery spaces.
Your Insider Art Guide will be on hand to offer insight as you wind your way through artists' works and exhibits. The London Art Insider walking tour is a fascinating glimpse into the East End's refreshing and sometimes brash artistic community.
