My name is Andrei Nicolau Miclea and I am a tour guide and a long time established travel designer with my own company. I am a full member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA). I have a BA in Economics and MA in European History. I lived in the United States for a long while therefore most of my customers are American and Canadian.
My tours are developed over many years of touring and come with a number of special features which add value to the experience: cultural connections, exclusively designed local tours and exclusive visits, interactive crafts demonstrations, wine tasting, meeting with local artists, home stay/home hosted dinners as well as interesting lectures on various topics. I work with some of the most experienced English speaking tour guides in the country.
Except for history, architecture and rural traditions I focus on the tremendous changes that occurred in this country (and part of Europe) since the downfall of Communism.
My name and tours appeared in a number of travel related articles mostly in the United States but also in Britain: Travel Weekly, ITN, Frommer's Budget Magazine, German Life, Daily Telegraph, etc.
I have also given interviews and have been part of a documentary on Transylvania which was shown by BBC North Manchester in 2002.
My last interview was for the Travel Channel's & Discovery Travel "Mysterious Journeys: The Hunt For Dracula" shown in November and December of 2007 as well as in 2008.
I led many site inspections and fam trips: i. e. for Frommer's Guide Books, Fodor's,, etc., updating the Romania chapter.
As a freelance tour guide and a tour leader I worked for important travel agencies such as Intrav Deluxe Travel, Vantage Deluxe World Travel, Gulliver's Travel Associates (London), Mir Corporation, TC Swartz Expeditions, ACFEA Travel Consultants, Travcoa, Venice Simplon Orient Express, Tradewinds Singapore, Adventures Abroad (Canada), Eurasia (Japan), Carpati International and others.
I have 20 years of proven experience. My tours are mostly tailor made. Own fleet of modern sedans and minivans as well as an expert team of real tour guides.

Guiding services and driving (with my own transportation):
Half day (up to 4 hours): 85 - 110 US Dollars
Full day (up to 9 hours): 160 - 200 US Dollars
Each tour comes as a package. Its prices includes: accommodation with breakfast in three and four star hotels, fully insured minivan/sedan with climate control for the entire distance, fuel and parking fees, airport/railway station transfers, guiding & driving services throughout, guide’s expenses, lunch and dinner as per itinerary, admissions to sites/museums/churches, porterage except for customs areas, VAT and local tax (where applicable), detailed map of Romania.
