The Village of Harlem is one of the most exciting areas of New York City. We welcome the opportunity to show you and your group Harlem from a natives perspective - natives who love New York. Whether you are being dazzled on one of our Harlem Gospel Tours, being intrigued by all that you will learn on one of our other Harlem tours, or being fascinated by the color of Harlem, you will love the experience.
Harlem Gospel Tour - 4 hours We head uptown and enter the gateway to the Village of Harlem, one of the most intriguing communities of New York. Legends accompany its landmarks, including the campus of City College, Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Apollo Theater, the Cotton Club, the Malcolm Shabazz Mosque, Striver's Row, the Abyssinian Baptist Church, Rucker Park. While visiting the charming neighborhoods of Sugar Hill, Hamilton Grange, Jumel Terrace and others, you will learn the history and contributions of Harlem's residents, past and present. We then enter a church to attend a typical worship service and to experience the sights and sounds of moving gospel music. We finally return to midtown or a prearranged location to end the tour.
