We specialize in organizing scheduled and bespoke Military History Tours throughout Europe from 1415 to 1945. Established in 2000, the company has welcomed and entertained visitors from around the world – including Australia and New Zealand, The USA and Canada, Britain and Ireland – even Japan. Our HQ is the historic Old Café Jourdain at Mailly-Maillet, on the Somme, and our key personnel are Rod and Jackie Bedford.

We have a passion for military history – both Rod and Jackie have served in the British Army. Rod is one of the few battlefield tour guides operating today who can combine an encyclopedic knowledge of Historic Military events, with the skills attained through eighteen years in the Grenadier Guards and Instructor at Sandhurst. This means that the significance of each battlefield location is fully revealed and brought alive for you through the eyes of a soldier.

Scheduled Tours

We can take you on a set itinerary tour during your stay, and you can experience the locations where the momentous events took place – if it's the Somme, a standard tour will comprise the main locations of the campaign – from the famous diversionary attack at Gommecourt on the first day, down the line through Serre, Beaumont Hamel, Thiepval, the Lochnagar Crater, and the famous "Horseshoe of Woods”, where much of the attritional fighting took place in the high summer of 1916.

Bespoke Tours

Alternatively we can construct a completely bespoke itinerary just for you, whether you're a party of one, two or a group. If you are looking to retrace the steps of an ancestor, our bespoke service is for you – and it may not cost you more than our standard rates. It’s an integral part of our service to ensure your stay with us fulfills all your expectations – and more besides. With us, the emphasis is always on you – our number one priority. We always aim to surpass your expectations.

Your Tour Vehicle

Our vehicle is a spacious Mercedes Viano. With leather seats, privacy glass, air conditioning with separate rear controls and room for up to five passengers and masses of luggage, this is the ultimate luxury touring vehicle. It is insured licensed and registered with the local authorities to carry fare paying passengers. For larger groups from twelve to fifty people we hire luxury executive coaches. We always use the same supplier where possible to ensure our high standards are maintained.
