Full day wine tour to experience and taste one of the best Brunello di Montalcino wine and one of the best Montepulciano wine; a tour with private car and driver to explore at your peace the best of Tuscany south of Siena: the hilltop medieval town of Montalcino and Montepulciano; the small town of Pienza, reach of works of art, unique example of a Renaissance “ideal town”.

Tour Montalcino on your own walking trough the streets of this charming hilltop town considered probably an ancient settlement since Etruscan times. In Montalcino area you will visit a premium vinery where taste the famous Brunello wine. The red wine Brunello is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes in the vineyards surrounding the town of Montalcino.

Next stop of your private tour is a visit of Pienza, the UNESCO in 1996, declared Pienza a World heritage Site. Pienza was the birthplace of Aeneus Silvius Picolomini, a renaissance humanist who became Pope under the name of Pius II and rebuilt the old village applying the humanist urban concept. The area in the surrounding of Pienza is famous for a cheese made with sheep milk, the Pecorino di Pienza, en route, you will stop at a dairy farm to taste fresh and matured Pecorino cheese.
Your wine tour continue to the town of Montepulciano with a stop where you can have a tour on your own and where in the countryside you will have a visit of a premium vinery where taste the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano locally produced with grapes of Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
On the way, time permitting, stop at the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, the beautiful Romanesque church not far from Montalcino.
