Outside Prague:

Cesky Krumlov - picturesque town with a Renaissance castle in the Southern Bohemia, since 1992 on the Unesco Cultural Heritage List. One of the most visited places in the Czech Republic saves its untouched architectural authenticity, in the city centre there are only houses from the 15th and 16th century. Full-day trip. (Note: the castle is open from April to October, but the city is interesting even in winter.)

Carlsbad - sumptuous spa located in the western part of Czech Republic. The city gained its reputation thanks to the hot mineral springs discovered in the Middle Ages. In the past it was the place where European aristocracy and artists sojourned or lived, until nowadays it is possible to find their traces. The city is famous also for its International Film Festival. On the road we will visit the brewery od Krusovice where you can taste the local product. Full-day trip.

Konopiste Castle - if you want to see rich collections of guns, trophies, china, furniture, paintings, do not hesitate. The castle was built in the Middle Ages, rebuilt several times and the last important period came in the end of the 19th century when the manor belonged to the crown prince Franz Ferdinand d´Este, heir of the Austrian Empire. The castle is nearby Prague, it will be a half-day trip. (Note: castle is closed in winter)

Kutna Hora and Open-Air Folk Museum Prerov - the full-day trip: the first visit will be in the medieval town of Kutna Hora, since 1992 on the UNESCO Heritage List. Thanks to the prosperous silver mines Kutna Hora became, after Prague, the second most important town of the Czech kingdom in the Middle Ages.
From this time there are beautiful monuments: St. Barbara Church, Italian Court with Old Royal Mint, the Stone House, and the Gothic Fountain. An uniquely amazing sight is the baroque Ossuary nearby the city centre. Its interior is decorated with bones of some 40.000 people. The second stop will be in the small town of Prerov, there is a nice open-air folk museum presenting old Czech rural architecture.
