Discovering Seville, the capital of Andalusia, is like dreaming with the eyes wide open...You will be charmed by its colors, by the various cultures which have given its shape and atmosphere to the city. Between flamenco and “corridas” (bull fights), Seville has known how to preserve the richness of its traditions.
There is a touch of vanity in the way that Seville, like a pretty woman, perfumes itself with the heady smell of orange blossoms in Spring, puts on its best dress for the April fair and discloses its deepest passions during the Holy Week. There is no escape: you too will be seduced.
Seville has learned from the Romans the architecture of its houses, it has borrowed from the Arabs their taste for luxury and from the Christians their religion, while adapting it however to its own understanding of faith and conception of life. If you wish to enjoy every single moment of your stay without hurry, Seville – where the pleasure of living is a leitmotiv – will enchant you.
We advise you to take a walk through the typical quarter of Santa Cruz and the wonderful tropical park of María Luisa. We also recommend you to go for a drink in La Carbonería, a place where you can hear and see authentic flamenco and sevillanas. You should not fail to visit the cathedral with its “Giralda” (spire) – the world’s third largest, its innumerable churches, the Alcázar and its gardens, Pilatos’ house, the Maestranza.
There are places in Seville where, if you open your eyes, your understanding is seduced by a thousand perfumes and you are lured to believe you are in a very distant country when seeing palm trees compete in height with minarets. The ever present orange trees also add their note of color.
Sevilla - The courses
- Intensive 20
This course is held from Monday to Friday. It contains 4 periods of 55 minutes per day, 20 hours per week. The intensive course is for all levels and takes place the whole year.
- Intensive 30
Additionally to the intensive 25 course, you can take one extra hour one-to-one tuition per day
- One-to-one course
This individual course is aimed at all those who want to improve their linguistic competence in a particularly effective way and in the shortest possible time. At the beginning of the course your teacher will help you to choose your program. You can also decide how many hours a week you wish to book, or even ask to share your course with another student. Private lessons can also be taken in addition to other courses.
- Combined course
This formula enables you to start your course in one city and to continue in a different one while following the same programme.
At the weekend, all the young people meet up on the many squares or on the verges of the river Guadalquivir and they hold a “botellón”: they drink (“botella” means “bottle”) and chat for a while before moving on to the numerous bars and discos of the city.
The levels
- Beginner
Especially for students without any previous knowledge of the Spanish language. Our objective is to be enable you to make yourself understood in simple everyday life situations.
- Elementary
At this level participants already possess a basic vocabulary and some knowledge of grammatical structures. Vocabulary and grammar will be further extended so that you will be able to take part in simple conversations.
- Intermediate
The intermediate level is aimed at students who are confident with basic grammatical structures. The emphasis is on more complex structures such as the past tenses and the subjunctive. Course participants will be encouraged to participate in more sophisticated conversations.
- Advanced
This level is for those students who possess a sound knowledge of Spanish grammar and wish to further extend this knowledge by putting their skills into practice. The course will enable you to express yourself confidently in daily as well as in work situations.
- Superior
For students who can already communicate in the Spanish language with a high level of accuracy. We will mostly deal with topics related to Spain and will put the emphasis on active communication, clarifying grammatical questions in their context.
