Excursions and landscape drawing and painting in the most beautiful french places where old masters choosed to live for the quality of the light like Picasso, Renoir, chagall, Matisse... you will also visit their houses and museums. Located at the border of French Cote d'azur and the Italian Riviera, you will feel the best of the two worlds with sunshine all year long (The charm of an authentic Italian village, nightlife of Monte Carlo, French old villages). You will create in a seaview studio, do escursions and landscape paintings.
These courses are for beginners as well as advanced. All classes can be taught in English,Italian and French. We also offer stone and wood carving classes around the year. No prior experience necessary. Learn techniques of this time-honored art form using the variety of tools and stones. Enjoy working outdoors, in front of the Mediterranean, sculpting stone into forms of almost any size and shape; share with others European sculptors your creative experience and most of it, live in an authentically village at the border of the French Riviera. A little paradise!
Faculty Information:
Nicole Durand, international artist has been teaching in school of fine arts in Switzerland, France and Italy. She also teach art therapy and sculpture.
Other Activities:
We provide cooking lessons, food and wine testing, museums visits. Here are a list with excursions - optional tours:
- Picasso's museum in Antibes, 40 minutes by train from Menton train station.
- Renoir's private house In Cagnes sur mer, Transportation also possible by train.
- Matisse and Chagali musems in Nice 10 minutes from each other, walking distance, only half an hour from the studio closest train station.
All excursions are possible by train (one hour maximum from Menton train station). With possibility of visiting old towns and having lunch. Possibility of car rentals also.
Facility Information:
Nicole Durand organizes housing for each student, close to the studio. Accommodations are based on each student requirement. Accommodations are possible in one of the guestrooms or in a separate apartment. The simultaneous use of the facilities by several colleagues is possible. For special housing situations, we will assist you in finding the type of accommodations required.
