Kitesurfing is not an easy sport and it takes a lot of training and practice to learn how to control the kite. Learning how to control the kite is very beneficial, though. First of all, you will be able to kitesurf in a more professional manner and enjoy the experience. You will also be safe if you leaned how to control the kite and know the basic and advanced control techniques. You will slowly but surely learn the skills you need to kitesurf like a professional. However, you will need some patience, as it is not easy to learn how to control the kite. You will make mistakes along the way, but your patience and practice will pay off. There are several techniques that we teach you to control the kite. First of all, you should learn how to control the kite when you have fallen in water from your board. We practice by using your kite to drag in water behind it and learn to control the kite. You will be using a harness to shift the pull from your hands to your body. Next step is to learn how to start from water and how to control the kite while doing this. Normally, you will start by positioning yourself in water on your back with the board in front of you and the kite floating above you. After the kit gains power, you will be pulled out of the water forward on the board. Also learn how to sustain the speed on the board. This is an important part of learning how to control the kite. When on the board, maintain the kite in front of yourself and try to feel the right position to the wind window. Next, but not last, we will teach you how to control the kite while traveling upwind and downwind. Both of these techniques are important. Only once you have learned the basics of how to control the kite you should continue to the more advanced techniques and tricks. Remember that you should always be in control, not matter what trick you are performing. Faculty Information: Other Activities: Facility Information: Notes:
