We will be drawing and painting from life. Sam D'Ambruoso will be painting with any individual wanting to learn the art of drawing and painting. This is an intense one-on-one art instruction following closely to the classical method of teaching the foundation and principles of painting.. This program is designed for beginners to intermediate artists

- Time slots are available weekly; $35 per hour, two hour minimums.
- Class size is limited to the artist only!

- Mediums: oils, pastels, drawing.

Faculty Information:
Sam D'Ambruoso of Middlebury, CT has been professionally painting landscapes and portraits since 1972. With over ten years experience in teaching workshops and art instruction in the United States and in Italy, his artists' workshops in Tuscany, Amalfi, as well as Old Lyme, CT and Cape Cod, MA have been widely acclaimed by past participants. A graduate of Providence College, he studied with the internationally renowned landscape painter, Thomas Beuchner of Elmira, New York; advanced landscape painting with Skip Whitcomb of Fort Collins, Colorado; portraiture at the Paier College of Art, Hamden, CT with Joseph Funaro as well as figure and portrait painting since the late 1980s with Dan Gheno at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Art. In the fall of 2006, he studied advanced portraiture with Peter Cox at the Art Students League, NYC. In 2007 he continued in portraiture with noted artist, Laura Stern Boeck of Katonah, NY.

He is a member of Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society and Plein Air Painters of America. With respect to portrait and figure painting, he is a member of the Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists, an Elected Artist at the Kent Art Association, an associate member of the American Watercolor Society, Washington Art Association, and the New Britain Museum of American Art. He has been in regional as well as national landscape and figure shows. Current projects include original paintings of the New England, Tuscany, Amalfi, and Capri Italy as well as selected portrait commissions. He was elected a landscape-painting instructor at the 2004 Arts and Materials Show, sponsored by American Artist Magazine, in Pasadena, CA. Many of his paintings are in public and private collections worldwide.

The important aspect of this art instruction is that all classes are privately taught which ensures that the artist will receive plenty of individual attention.

$35 per hour, two hour minimums, artists usually book one two hour session per week or every other week. Artists pick their convenient time to attend.
