The rugged scenery of the Peloponnese peninsula, and its pristine nature and rich flora – with 5000 different plant species Greece has the greatest diversity of Europe – offers great photo opportunities. During this photography short course you get acquainted with various aspects of nature photography – ranging from landscape photography to macro photography of flowers and plants. In between photo shoots we discuss and view the results.

Course topics:
- Landscape photography – panorama landscape photography
- Macro photography or close up photography without a macro lens
- Photographing during the golden hours
- Getting the colours right (white balance and exposure)
- Tools and equipment for nature photography
- Dealing with the weather
- Editing and presenting your nature and landscape photos.

Photography Field Trips:

Photography field trips are held in olive groves, in gorges, in the Taygetus mountains and in the Lakedaemon Valley. You can also opt for a full day field trip to the Mani peninsula. Look here for ideas for great outdoor locations. The photography short course in nature photography can easily be combined with Learning Digital Photography or a course in Photo Editing.

Faculty Information:
All individual workshops are given by Anton Harfst. Anton is a professional photographer,specialized in outdoor photography. He lives and works on the Peloponnese, close to Sparta, and loves to share his passion for photography and Greece.

Note: We can arrange accommodation in walking distance of our facility.

Other Activities:
We plan the outdoor workshop locations of each workshop in consultation with the participant. Thus they can be combined with visits to specific locations, sites, or museums, or with special events, ranging from olive or grape harvest to local festivals and music or theatre.

Facility Information:
We are located in an old stone house in Xirokambi, 15 km south of Sparta. The workshop accommodation is located on the ground floor. Here we view the photo's together at the end of each day. If you do not carry a laptop, you can use one of our computers to download and backup your photos. Participants can enjoy our vine-covered terrace and garden with olive and orange trees. In the village you'll find cafes, restaurants and shops.
