The aim of all Cheesemaking courses is to ensure that you learn the techniques and skills to make a wide range of handmade, traditional and gourmet cheese in your own home whilst enjoying a terrific learning experience.
At the Cheesemaking courses you will have an introduction of about 30 minutes of cheesemaking theory and background, and then you will spend the next 3 hours each day cheesemaking. There is a lot of discussion about different cheesemaking techniques that you are using. The aim of these discussions is to ensure that you leave with a very detailed understanding of how to make lots of different cheeses from start to finish. But, you are also guaranteed an unforgettable cheesemaking weekend. While you do roll up your sleeves and work hard over two days, the courses are also fun and interactive. The reward for your hard work is to sit down at the end of the course and celebrate your hard earned achievements with a glass of wine and a tasting of some of the best local and international cheeses available, and by this stage you will be able to provide your own analysis of the flavour, body, texture and characteristics of each of these cheeses. At this point in the course you also receive your cherished Master Cheese Making Certificate. Places are limited to 12 persons per course. This is due to the intensity of the course and to allow full instruction and supervision to be provided to all participants over the two days. Each course is run personally by Maria, one of the most experienced master cheesemakers, dairy professionals and educators. Maria will draw on her 10 years of cheesemaking experience to make the processes very simple for you. The course can be done either in Spanish or English.
