Artist Robert Masla and his wife Monica Levine invite you to join them and other internationally known artists and instructors, in the unique tropical environment of his studio and their home located in the authentic fishing village of Boca de Tomatlan, 10 miles south of Puerto Vallarta on Mexico’s gorgeous Pacific Coast. Here inspiration abounds with tropical flora and fauna and all the beauty the sun, surf and sea have to offer. Casa de los Artistas is built with the jungle and mountains behind it and the river and ocean at the front door. The open-air studio on the top floor is approximately 1,500 sq. ft. with panoramic vistas of the Boca, river and bay. In the nurturing and supportive creative environment of Casa de los Artistas, technical instruction is expertly offered while experimentation and exploration encouraged. Join in this joyful process; express your creativity in this relaxed and healing atmosphere.
About the "Casa Experience", Masla says: "We have created these Art Workshop/Vacations out of some of our key passions in life; what we believe is, the essential human "need" to live, explore, interact with and express the creation, creativity and the creative impulse, and thus produce works of art and creative expression. A love for experiencing and exploring the natural world and diverse cultures and peoples. Our love for Mexico, its' culture and people, particularly the unique beauty of the "Boca" and surrounding regions with their mystical mountains and cliffs adjoining the sea, and our desire and ability to share our passions with others. We have designed these all inclusive workshop vacations for you, to be as stress free, comfortable, and rejuvenating as possible. Our mission is to enrich people’s lives thru this workshop and vacation experience - and to have fun doing it! Leave the hectic day behind, come and enjoy the tropical lifestyle on Mexican time.
Jump-start your intuition as you recharge your creative batteries in this inspirational village, where time seems to stand still. Painting, drawing, swimming, sea kayaking, snorkeling, relaxing on the beach or patio, diving into conversation as you develop camaraderie while enjoying a delicious meal with new friends or hiking along the jungle paths and waterfalls. Your creativity workshop vacation at Casa de los Artistas is different from anything you have experienced, (read the statements of past Casa participants online). But that’s not all; make sure you bring your camera, journal and sketchbook, as there will be numerous cultural excursions as well. We will visit the exotic botanical gardens for photography and sketching, we visit the nearby Mt. town of El Tuito, tour the small but beautiful Hacienda Museum, having lunch and tequila tasting at a hacienda restaurant overlooking the mountains and the aguave plantation. We will also be taking a trip into Puerto Vallarta for shopping at the Mercado and wonderful crafts shops, walking on the malecon (boardwalk), at night (filled with artists, street performers and revelers) and tour some of the galleries to experience the city’s lively arts scene.
There will be a boat trip to explore the gorgeous coastline and spectacular rock formations, picnic at a secluded beach as well as having the opportunity to swim or snorkel at Los Arcos National Coral Reef Park, with opportunities for seeing sea turtles, whales, dolphins and abundant fish. Other wild life is right at hand, from the balcony of your room you can view tropical birds and observe the local unspoiled Boca. Watch (and participate) as the simple authentic Mexican village life unfolds around you. This quaint fishing village unspoiled by tourists, is a rare treat off the beaten path. Words don’t actually do justice to the wonderful adventure in store for each participant. Your all inclusive week long Art Workshop and Vacation is just that - a workshop that is structured for growth and creative development, where you don't have to worry about details, but not too rigid - loose enough to enjoy yourself, relax and experience a vacation from the typical.
