Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Stanley Medical English Academy offers English as a Second Language programs designed for Medical Professionals (doctors, nurses, medical students, pharmacists, and other medical professionals). Medical English: This is a great course for foreign-trained doctors, nurses and medical students who would like to learn how to communicate with their patients and colleagues in English. Students will learn how to read, write and speak in medical terms. This course is also recommended for nurses and other healthcare workers who would like to work or volunteer in Canada.
Medical English Job Shadowing Program:
This diploma program is for foreign-trained medical professionals who want job shadowing experience in Canada. The program consists of 2 parts. The first part is the in-class study of Medical English for three months and the second part is a one-month job shadowing at a medical facility. The placement will be determined by the student's experience and English level.

As well as offering courses to prepare for these medical exams, we are also able to help foreign trained medical professionals improve their skills for Clinical Skills exams; we can work with you to help you speak more clearly and perform a history and physical examination using appropriate medical terminology. We will help you communicate in a patient-based setting and teach you methods to handle difficult patients through improving your clinical English skills.
Faculty Information:
Classes are taught by medical professionals with teaching experience. They are very knowledgeable and friendly.
Other Activities:
We arrange visits to hospitals, medical clinics and nursing homes in order for the students to experience the Canadian medical system. Depending on who is studying with us at any given time, we will take the students to the facilities that best match their specializations or interests.
In addition to the visits to medical facilities, the students can enjoy the many sights and activities there are to do in Vancouver.
If you plan to take the Medical Job Shadowing Program, you will be placed in a medical facility for a month after your three months of study.

The students are free to use the computers. They can also enjoy hot and cold drinks, as well, they have access to a fride and microwave.
