Experience an unforgettable Medieval Easter in Ceriana. These glories Medieval Traditions have been passed-down and celebrated since the Middle Ages. There are four ConFraternities representing the oldest and most important churches in the Village, they will lead the Medieval Easter Processions with torches, songs and traditional chants. There are several internationally-known Choral Societies in Ceriana, some of their songs date back to 1216! Watch the children of Ceriana make horns with chestnut wood in the square, because the church bells are silenced between Good Friday and Easter Sunday and the horns are blown instead. The Medieval Easter Celebration in Ceriana is widely studied by anthropologist and musicologist experts throughout the world. These Medieval Traditions have been documented, filmed and internationally televised. Don’t miss it!
The Candidate for this Workshop must love to explore, paint, walk on cobblestone, sleep in simple accommodations and have an adventurous spirit. The Medieval Adventure Workshop is for people who are looking to experience “How Life Was” during the Middle Ages in Italy. Capture it, and bring it home. Paint in Plein Air and recreate this incredible ambiance. Able to explore hundreds of narrow cobblestone pathways and stone staircases that lead to beautiful churches, taverns, river, old olive mills, markets, spectacular vistas, and to the House-Hostel, where we will be lodging. The House was built around the 13th Century; simple with modern conveniences; domed ceilings, stone walls throughout and original tiles.
If continuing to the next workshop session, Free weekend lodging allowing students to travel around (Italian Riviera, Cinque Terra, Portofino, South of France, Monte Carlo, Monaco, Nice, Cannes etc.) before the next session begins.
Paint amazing Italian landscapes, olive groves, vineyards, abandoned olive mills, small romantic river, palazzos, cathedrals, ruins, village people, and everyday life scenes in a small Medieval Village.

March 2008 - Instructor Jim Salchak WW, NWS - will teach Watercolor at two locations: South of Rome and the Italian Riviera.
May/June 2008 - Instructor Elaine Hahn AWS, NWS - will teach OIL at two locations: South of Rome and the Italian Riviera.
Other Activities:
Optional Day Trips to San Remo. If for some reason, you want to wonder and explore the territory during painting days, you are welcomed to do so. This is a relax environment, our main concern is to ensure that our guests have the best experience.
Facility Information:
Experience and sleep in a House-Hostel that was built in Medieval Times, with simple accommodations and modern conveniences. The house was built in the late 13th century made up of thick and revealing stones walls, original tile floors, and rooms have domed ceilings. It is simply furnished with 2 balconies, full kitchen, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living-room, on 2-levels with an original stone staircase (not suitable for the disabled). Kitchen has a large rustic table, stove, microwave, refrigerator and washing machine. The kitchen is for anyone who wants to eat at home. We provide linens and towels.
Everything is at walking distance: markets, coffee shops, pub, ice-cream parlor, bakery, restaurants (2), post office, bank, ATM machine, and bus stop.
