About the Stile Mediterraneo Italian Language School: The Stile Mediterraneo Italian language School provides Italian lessons in Lecce Puglia Southern Italy.
Language classes: Italian language classes are informal and given by professional instructors. You don't sit in front of a computer but you learn the authentic Italian, through the local people you meet. We promote a unique and fun approach of teaching and learning the Italian language: Italian courses are designed for gourmets seeking to combine an Italian learning experience with the pleasures of cooking the authentic Southern Italian dishes as well as for the wine lovers wishing to learn about the unique wines of Puglia. The programs include Italian language lessons, conducted in the mornings and Cooking classes or wine tasting held in the afternoons. You spend your time with local Italian people, reading newspapers and talking about the most updated events happening in the country.
The School is located in a small town near Lecce where you really get the authentic and relaxed Mediterranean way of life. The whole area is surrounded by beautiful vineyards and millenary olive trees. We will be happy to suggest you the most convenient accommodations in order to attend our classes.
Cooking Classes: Our Italian classes are combined with cooking classes, since we believe this is a fun way to learn the Italian language. All classes are hands-on and taught in English. You will be guided by two instructors, so to receive the most personal attention. Classes are for small groups (6-7 people maximum). Cookery classes can be private (for example for 1 or 2 people) as well as joinable. Classes are based on the traditional home made cuisine of Puglia. Ingredients are seasonal and locally produced by select farmers. Cooking classes always include visits of the best local food markets (where we buy ingredients) and visits of the best artisans hand making products with ancient and traditional methods. During the classes you will learn how to pair wine and food and olive oil and food.
Wine School: Our Italian classes are combined with wine tours and tasting. Our wine school includes: wine tastings at the best vineyards; grape harvest and wine making from September till November; olive oil making from October till December.
Weather in Puglia: Puglia has a typical Mediterranean climate. It is sunny 99% of the year. Winters are very mild: at midday temperature can be 15-20°C.
People and partners not attending the classes: Guests not attending classes included in this tour will be free to relax, use the bicycles for a ride along the coast, relax in the beautiful Lecce historical center.
Date of the programs: Programs are organized all over the year. Programs can last from 1 day to 2 weeks.
Your Hosts: The school is run by the sisters Cinzia and Marika Rascazzo who were born in Puglia and raised in Boston, New York and London where they got exposure to the most diverse and international cultures. They both speak fluent English and French. People attending the Stile Mediterraneo classes discover the authentic secrets of Southern Italy and Puglia!

* Six days Italian & Cooking Combined Program (5 Italian classes, 3 cooking classes + 3 dinners + 2 artisan visits).
* One day Italian & Cooking Combined Program (1 Italian lesson + 1 dinner + 1 cooking class). The Combined Italian & Cooking courses have been designed for gourmets lovers seeking to combine an Italian learning experience with the pleasures of cooking the authentic Southern Italian and Mediterranean dishes.
- Program 2: Italian & Wine
* Six days Italian & Wine Combined Program (5 Italian lessons; 5 dinners; 3 wine tastings with sommeliers; selection of best local wines; 2 winery visits).
* One day Italian & Wine Combined Program (= 1 Italian lesson; 1 dinner; 1 wine tasting; selection of best local wines). Our Italian & Wine courses have been designed for wine lovers and gourmets, for both professionals or amateurs, seeking to combine an Italian learning experience with the pleasures of tasting some of the most outstanding wines of Puglia and Italy.
Faculty Information:
The school is run by the 2 sisters Cinzia and Marika Rascazzo who were born and brought up in Puglia. Their grandmother taught them all the little secrets about the Pugliese recipes. Their grandfather took them to the vineyard during the grape harvest and taught them how to make the wine. After spending many years abroad studying and working in Boston, New York and London and being exposed to the most diverse and international cultures, Cinzia decided to move back to her home town and started the Stile Mediterraneo School. Marika is a professional Cardiologist and also contributes to Stile Mediterraneo. Her interests include: travel, cooking, wine, photography. They both speak fluent English and French.
Stile Mediterraneo is a way for Cinzia and Marika to promote the local Mediterranean cuisine and the local producers and wine makers, to small to reach the international markets.
