About the Stile Mediterraneo Cooking and Wine School:
The Stile Mediterraneo Italian Cooking and Wine School organizes cooking classes and wine tours.
All the services are carefully selected (cooks, food artisans, food markets) in order to provide first class services as well as an authentic experience (local cook teaching the true home made cuisine; dinners at private homes with local families).
Instructors speak English, French and Italian.
The School is located in a small village outside Lecce where you really get the authentic and relaxed Southern Italian experience.
Classes location:
We provide cooking and wine tasting classes as well as Italian lessons at our School which is located in a small village outside Lecce. We will be happy to suggest you the most convenient accommodations in order to attend our classes.
Cooking Classes:
Cooking classes can be private (for example for 1 or 2 people) as well as for large groups; demonstrative or hands-on. Classes are provided by a local lady who will teach you the authentic Puglian cuisine, which is home made and truly Mediterranean.
Puglia's cuisine reflects the fact that ingredients in Puglia are very tasteful and natural: you don't need to add anything sophisticated in order to get lots of flavor. Our experts will teach you how to prepare local dishes and combine them with the best local wines. You will get and incredible insight into the culture itself.
You will experience the Mediterranean lifestytle, dining with the real local people, who were born and raised in Puglia and learning about their traditions and cultures. People attending our classes will discover the authentic secrets of Southern Italy and Puglia!
Cooking classes always include visits of the best local food markets and visits of the best artisans hand making products with ancient and traditional methods.
Wine School:
Our wine school includes: wine tastings at the best vineyards; grape harvest and wine making from September till November; olive oil making from October till December.
Italian Language lessons:
The Cooking classes and wine tasting can be combined with an Italian language course.
Our Italian course has been designed for gourmets and wine lovers seeking to combine an Italian learning experience with the pleasures of cooking the authentic Southern Italian and Mediterranean dishes. The program includes Italian language lessons, conducted in the mornings and cooking classes held in the afternoons.
Italian is taught in an informal and relaxed way.
Weather in Puglia:
Puglia has a typical Mediterranean climate. It is sunny 99% of the year. Winters are very mild: at midday temperature can be 15-20°C.
People and partners not attending the classes:
Guests not attending classes included in this tour will be free to play golf, use the bicycles for a ride along the coast, relax in the beautiful Lecce historical center.
Date of the programs:
Programs are organized all over the year. Programs can last from 1 day to 2 months.
Your Hosts:
The school is run by the 2 sisters Cinzia and Marika Rascazzo who were born and brought up in Puglia. Their grandmother taught them all the little secrets about the Pugliese recipes. Their grandfather took them to the vineyard during the grape harvest and taught them how to make the wine.
After spending many years abroad studying and working in Boston, New York and London and being exposed to the most diverse and international cultures, Cinzia decided to move back to her home town and started the Stile Mediterraneo School.
They both speak fluent English and French.

At our school, guests do what the local Italians do: eat at the best local restaurants, mingle with interesting local people, learn about the real local culture, visit the best artisans, learn about the authentic local cuisine and wines. - Program 1: COOKERY & ITALIAN.
1345 EUR per person for the SIX-DAY COOKING & ITALIAN COMBINED PROGRAM (=5 Italian language classes + 3 cooking lessons + 2 artisan visits + 5 dinners).
290 EUR per person for the ONE-DAY COOKING & ITALIAN COMBINED PROGRAM (= 1 cooking lesson + 1 Italian class + 1 dinner).
200 to 260 EUR (depending on the menu) per person for the ONE-DAY COOKING PROGRAM (= 1 visit of a food market/artisan + 1 lunch + 1 cooking lesson + 1 dinner).
The 6-day Combined Italian & Cooking course has been designed for gourmets and wine lovers seeking to combine an Italian learning experience with the pleasures of cooking the authentic Southern Italian and Mediterranean dishes.
The 6-day program includes 5 Italian language lessons in the mornings and 3 cooking classes held in the afternoons. Cooking lessons are followed by dinner in the home of a local family. The program also includes a visit of a typical Lecce bakery and ice cream artisan and a professional wine an olive oil tasting.
It does not include the accommodation and transfer.
- Program 2: WINE & ITALIAN.
1495 EUR per person for the SIX-DAY WINE & ITALIAN COMBINED PROGRAM (= 5 Italian lessons + 5 dinners + 3 wine tasting classes with sommelier + selection of best local wines + 2 winery visits).
340 EUR per person for the ONE-DAY WINE & ITALIAN COMBINED PROGRAM (= 1 Italian lesson + 1 dinner + 1 wine tasting class with a sommelier + selection of best local wines).
280 EUR per person for the ONE-DAY WINE TASTING (=1 visit of a winery + 1 lunch + 1 wine tasting with a sommelier + selection of best local wines + 1 dinner).
Our Italian & Pugliese Wine course has been designed for wine lovers and gourmets, for both professionals or amateurs, seeking to combine an Italian learning experience with the pleasures of tasting some of the most outstanding wines of Puglia and Italy.
The 1 week program includes 5 Italian language lessons in the mornings and 3 Wine tasting courses in the afternoons. Wine tasting classes (3 hours) are conducted in Italian and translated into English by a professional wine taster. You will sample some of the greatest vintages of Puglia. Using the correct terms you will analyze the wine in your mouth and describe its aromas and flavors. This program will sharpen your awareness of the particularities that distinguish the Pugliese vineyards. You will also be introduced to some of the up-and-coming wines in the region. The one week program also includes 2 afternoon excursions to famous vineyards.
It does not include the accommodation and transfer.
Faculty Information:
Professional chefs as well as local chefs will give the cooking classes.
Professional chefs will teach the Italian cuisine. Local chefs will teach the authentic Puglian cuisine.
The two sisters, Cinzia and Marika Rascazzo, run the Stile Mediterraneo School. They both come from and live in Lecce. They both speak fluent English, French and Spanish. Cinzia has studied and worked for many years in the US and UK being exposed to the most diverse and international cultures.
Our staff will personally escort you during the program.

We teach you the authentic home made Puglia cuisine which is the true mediterranean one. You will eat and cook with the local Italians from Puglia and dine at their homes with their local family.
Puglia's food is different from Italian cuisine: it is the true home made and Mediterranean cuisine based on natural and artisan ingredients. Recipes are very simple and healthy because ingredients are natural and tasteful.
The School also organizes culinary and wine tours all over Puglia.
We may suggest the most beautiful private villas and farmhouse hotels. They are carefully selected in order to provide and authentic experience as well as first class services.
