M17525 is a small not-for-profit guild that provides educational resources in the graphic arts for artists, community organizations, education institutions and the public. Founded in 2005, the project is dedicated to the diffusion and development of printmaking. At the moment we are developing an event calendar throughout the year, with interesting courses, seminars and an international calls for artists.
During the Summer season, from June to September, we arrange several workshops in woodcut, etching, engraving, paper restoration, binding and artist's books of the duration of 2, 3, 5 or 10 days. Every Summer, we have always offered new and stunning locations to fit in with a holiday break in the best counties of North Italy. Next Summer we will relocate on the beautiful shores of Como Lake.
We have also invited three international artists to come over and work with us. Ann Swan, Irene Woodbury and Zara Matthews will offer special workshops to a limited number of people.
Faculty Information:
This teaching center does not affiliate with state education facilities and provides courses without examinations for enthusiasts.
All Instructors are Award Winning Artist, professionals in their field and widely respected.
Other Activities:
Starting from Summer 2008, M17525 will run a special program to invite artists from Italy, Europe and overseas to come over to the workshop and hold special topics courses. The aim is to offer our students a wide variety of approaches and to strengthen inter cultural understanding through the arts. By confronting printmaking with other media, tutors, artists and students will be able to develop professional projects or ambitious bodies of work and to understand the practice of being an artist or to relate with the art business.
Facility Information:
The studio currently has facilities for: etching, relief printing, screen printing, digital, binding, paper-making. Studio facilities are provided at reasonable cost for any artist who wishes to work with an "open access formula", by previous appointment. We also support applications from visiting artists.
