Our Italian Language School is located in culturally-rich Ragusa, the southernmost district of Sicily. We offer a wide range of quality Italian courses for individuals and groups. Our teachers are graduates of the Italian language and literature or foreign languages, and are young, friendly, professional, patient, and have experience of teaching in Italy and abroad. The strong relationship between students and teacher is a core part of our methodology.
The beautiful, scenic island of Sicily is situated between south-western tip of the Italian peninsula and the north coast of Africa, in the center of the Mediterranean Sea. The climate is hot and dry in the summer, and rather mild with light rainfall in winter.
Our Italian Language School is proudly situated in the heart of the Baroque architecture region of south eastern corner of Sicily at Ragusa Ibla, a small, ancient town in the core of the Val di Noto area of south east Sicily, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ibla is the ancient part of Ragusa. Our school is located inside the restored palace of Arezzo di Donnafugata. All rooms are air conditioned, with internet availability.
Some of the most attractive Sicilian highlights, are just a few miles away from Ragusa Ibla, namely; Noto, Modica, Scicli, Palazzolo Acreide and the castle of Donnafugata. There are also day excursions to Caltagirone, Siracusa, Catania and Mount Etna volcano. We provide 6 levels of language instruction, in line with the Common European Framework published by the European Council.
Individual and group courses:
- Small: 2hours per day in a group
- Standard: 4hours per day in a group
- Standard2: 4 hours per day in a group + 1 hour individual classes per day
- Extra: 4 hours per day in a group + 2 hours individual classes per day
- Individual Italian lessons: 1 or 2 persons.
Culture Courses:
- Contemporary Italian Literature;
- Sicilian literature;
- History of Sicilian Art;
- History of Sicily.
Faculty Information:
We are a young school with young teacher with teaching experience in Italy and abroad, in private school and University. Our school is located in Piazza Duomo one step far from "S.Giorgio Duomo" an incredible cathedral church, and all the area around the school is promenade.
Other Activities:
The school organizes trips to discover lesser-known places in the Ragusa area, old buildings with ancient architecture, local food and culinary traditions. This is one of the most important dairy region of southern Italy as well as the real farming land of Sicily. Wines, milk, cheese, olive oil, vegetables, chocolate and many others products are among the most popular products of this region. Every Saturday can be arranged excursions to Siracusa, Catania , Taormina, Agrigento and Temples, Palermo, Cefalů, Piazza Armerina, Enna, Mount Etna, Erice, Trapani and many others wonderful sites.
From Monday to Friday Italian film-shows with Italian subtitles and seminars about Italian culture. We arrange also brief guided visit to: Noto, Modica, Scicli, Palazzolo Acreide Donnafugata castle and Caltagirone. These trips focus is to let the students have a good knowledge of the territory and its economic activities. Local produce tasting in farms are also arranged. Every Saturday can be arranged excursions to Siracusa, Catania , Taormina, Agrigento and Temples, Palermo, Cefalů, Piazza Armerina, Enna, the volcano Etna, Erice, Trapani and many others wonderful places Bike and trekking also possible. We can organize cooking experience.
Facility Information:
Beautiful beaches can be reached in 20 minutes by car. Bike and trekking are also possible. Seminars and movies are also used at our school, to help give students a better knowledge of Italian culture, population and territory.
