Each lesson will explain how to create acquafortes, aquatints, soft grounds, dry points, mezzotints and roulettes. After this, it will be possible to try alternative procedures that can integrate the basic techniques in order to obtain more sophisticated results and free and casual effects.

Methods demonstrated will be:

Etching:
- Acquaforte, simple, with several mordantings, opus mallei or lapis method.
- Aquatint, with different reserves such as colophony, bitumen, spray or salt.
Protections in varnish, lithopen, wax.
- Soft ground and hard ground. Wax prints, wax shades, pastel effect, salt manner.

Engraving:
- Dry point
- Roulettes
- Mezzotint

Faculty Information:
All Instructors are Award Winning Artist, professionals in their field and widely respected.

This teaching center does not affiliate with state education facilities and provides courses without examinations for enthusiasts.

Other Activities:
The program will also feature notions of chemistry (regarding the processes and the materials used), history of paper, history of chalcography, and composition theory. A free handbook will be given to each student. Each participant will make own works, which may be created at the moment or on the base of drawings, photographs and images brought from home.

Facility Information:
The studio currently has facilities for: etching, relief printing, screen printing, digital, binding, paper-making. Studio facilities are provided at reasonable cost for any artist who wishes to work with an "open access formula", by previous appointment. We also support applications from visiting artists.
