- Medical Spanish classes at CPI Flamingo

Students are placed according to level based upon a written exam and oral interview. The maximum class size is four students per class. Small class size makes for optimum learning as the students receive specialized attention from their professor.

Cultural Activities: After classes in the afternoons scheduled activities include - Latin dance class, tropical fruit class and free transportation to local beaches.

Excursions: During the week optional afternoon excursions are organized so that you may explore the Flamingo area. These range in price from $20 - $40. Activities include - an afternoon sunset cruise, outriggers, horse back riding along the beach, a mountain bike tour, snorkeling, and a jungle boat tour along the Tempisque river.

- Medical Spanish classes at CPI Monteverde

Students are placed according to level based upon a written exam and oral interview (Note: those students coming from Session I in Flamingo will already have their group placement and will continue to advance with the program). The maximum class size is four students per class. Small class size makes for optimum learning as the students receive specialized attention from their professor.

Cultural Activities: After classes in the afternoons scheduled activities include - Latin dance class, Latin cooking class and movie night at CPI.

Other Activities:
Session I Week-end: Trip to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano and Santa Rosa National Park. The tour begins on Saturday morning (after the first week of class) and includes a visit to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, a volcano known for hot water and mud pools along its base. During the guided tour walk along the trails of the national park and become acquainted with the flora and fauna of this dry, tropical forest. After the hike, relax with a mud treatment in the local, rustic mud baths.

On Sunday morning, leave for the Santa Rosa National Park, a dry forest that was the first national park in Costa Rica. With a selection of hiking trails within the forest (some lead to the coast line where visitors can swim in the crystal blue waters of the Pacific), this area is home to over 250 species of birds. Animals seen in the reserve include: deer, anteaters, over 50 species of bats, as well as howler, spider and white-faced monkeys. "La Casona", a remodeled historical site, marks the location where Costa Rica defended her independence against the North American colonizer, William Walker.

Session II Week-end: Trip to Arenal Volcano. Depart on the Saturday morning (after the first week of class) for Arenal. Once in the area, students stop by Lake Arenal, take a guided hike along one of the lush trails to observe wildlife native to the region, spend the early evening bathing and relaxing at the hot springs with its spectacular view of the volcano, and dine leisurely at the hot springs resort. If the volcano is active on this day, you can see and hear impressive lava eruptions. On Sunday morning hike to the Catarata La Fortuna and swim in the natural pools at the base of the waterfall.
