San Sebastian is one of those places that are a joy to live in and a treat for those who come and visit. Set against a backdrop of the Pyrenees, the school is within easy reach of a beautiful bay and impressive beach. This ancient city is famous for its delicious cuisine, and a wide range of cultural activities play an important part in everyday local life: film, jazz festivals, classical music events, different concerts and shows. San Sebastian is accessible by air, train and ferry. The French border is just 20 kms away.
San Sebastian, also known as Donostia, lies along a white sandy bay between the Urgull and Igeldo hills. Fishermen's houses, smart suburbs and modern districts make it one of the most attractive cities on the Cantabrian coast. The Museum of San Telmo, the Peine de los Vientos (Comb of the Winds) and the Kursaal are examples of how the city brings together modern and traditional features. Meanwhile, the province of Guipuzcoa, of which San Sebastián is the capital, blends sea and mountains, offering the traveler landscape, sports and cuisine, as well as interesting monuments. Basque cuisine has a recognized international prestige – mealtimes in the Basque Country can be a momentous occasion!.
San Sebastián is a cosmopolitan city with a strong Basque character, which is clear in its cultural events. The "tamborrada" or "Semana Grande", with its fishing boat regatta, tells us something of the tradition; while its prestigious film and jazz festivals say a great deal about its international role.
Courses:
* Spanish language and cookery: Intensive language program of 20 lessons per week, take place in the morning and a one week Spanish cookery classes then from 16.30 - 20.30, Monday to Friday. At the end of each class, dishes will be served and tasted with wine and bread, and a recipe book with all dishes prepared that week is offered at the end of the program.
* General Intensive Spanish: Our standard formula for students staying from 2 weeks to a year. From 4 to 12 students per class, 20 lessons a week. The program is designed to improve your communication skills.
* Survival Spanish: Our standard formula for students staying from 2 weeks to a year. From 4 to 12 students per class, 20 lessons a week. The program is designed to promote your ability to communicate.
* Cultural Activity classes: These courses are designed to combine Language and Culture. They are aimed primarily at participants over 50, with the aim to seek a perfect balance between study and culture.
* Special interest: We have some special interest courses for those who may like to focus on something different, for example Flamenco.

Faculty Information:
All our staff are qualified, dedicated and experienced teachers who are native or bilingual speakers of Spanish. Direct Communicative Technique methods are used throughout. These are currently considered the most effective systems of broadening the students' knowledge of vocabulary, structures and idiom. Classes are normally run between Mondays & Fridays. Due to varying travel schedules, alternative arrangements can be made. Students’ level of proficiency is established through a written assessment test on the first day of school.
Other Activities:
Enrollment at the San Sebastian school gives you free access to the central libraries and to the Houses of Culture and a 10 % discount on shows organized by the Culture Board. The Houses of Culture organizes concerts, theater and different courses and talks. You can also use their library.
* Spanish and Surfing: This program is available in conjunction with one of our 20 lesson per week general language courses. Surfing lessons are one hour per day from Monday to Friday. All materials are provided (board, wetsuit, insurance).
* Sports Public Local Sport Centers: Facilities (weight machines…): 2,50 € per session. Swimming pool: 4,50 €. SURF SCHOOL You have the chance to learn surfing on one of our most beautiful beaches. For one week class, it costs 60€ and you get one hour lesson a day. At the end you will receive a surf diploma and discounts on future rents of surfing material.
* Basque Camping and Mountain Club - in this club you can have some very exciting adventures in natural surroundings. They offer trips to the mountains around San Sebastian, with some spectacular spots. They organize activities every week and during winter they even organize skiing trips.
* Leisure program Social and Cultural activities The school organizes "intercambio" parties, talks and lectures, videos, international meals and visits to the cultural centers, to the local radio station and to local exhibitions.
Facility Information:
In the center of San Sebastian our new premises were opened in July 2000, have been designed to make it easier to communicate and learn Spanish in a pleasant atmosphere. Terrace, communal area with a library and multimedia computers, air conditioning, high-fidelity sound, video. We are open from 8.30 a.m. till 8.00 p.m., you can come whenever you want to make use of our installations.
