Sevilla, the capital of Andalusia, is considered to be one of the most beautiful cities in Spain and the one which best keeps alive the spirit of its traditions. It is easily accessible by train, bus and car and the nearest airport is Malaga. Founded in 1883, this school has several centers located in the center of historic Seville. This Spanish course is specially designed for young people between 14 and 17 years old. The Spanish abroad language and communication classes puts special emphasis on the Spanish culture and customs and allow them to be integrated into the Spanish lifestyle from the first day.
Courses:
* Business Spanish Course: Spanish for business gives students an insight into the business culture in both Spain and Latin America and allows them to improve their business language.
* Super Intensive No Beginners: The course is aimed to those students who wish to speed up the learning process in order to move up to a higher level in less time.
* Live and study: This course combines all the advantages of a one-to-one course with the possibility of living in a family environment orientated towards the actual learning process. In other words the teacher’s home becomes the classroom and the student is in the ideal environment to practice everything that they have learnt. As the teacher lives with the student they quickly discover the student’s skills and needs.
In addition, the teacher can help the student in their choice of cultural visits as well as accompany them to the school so that they can take part in the cultural activities along with the rest of the students. Fees include single room; full board and Seville airport return transfer.
* Culture and Spanish language: Two-week course designed for students with special interests who want to combine learning the Spanish language with learning about the culture of Spain. Classes are in small groups with the emphasis on oral expression. The teachers for this course realize the importance of special emphasis on the culture (festivals and traditions, history and literature and the way of life).
The program includes transfer from Seville airport upon arrival, a welcome-drink, 20 classes in small groups, and social and cultural activities on 4 afternoons /evenings per week. Entrance tickets to the local monuments are included as is a full-day excursion (Saturday), a theater evening and one dinner with the teacher per course.
* Gap Year: The duration of this course is from 12 weeks to 36 weeks with 22 classes per week. This is the ideal course for those students who wish to dedicate a term or a whole year to the study of Spanish language and culture. Students have sufficient time to combine learning Spanish with studying Spanish History, Literature and Culture in general. Classes can be in the morning from 9'15 to 13'00 or in the afternoon from 14.00 to 17.40. Students also receive a course book in the price.
* General Spanish course: Recommended for those students who wish to combine language learning with a study of Spanish culture in a real life situation at a steady pace. Designed for students from varied backgrounds and a range of ages. There are 22 classes a week either in the morning or the afternoon with students completing a level every 4 weeks. The course is ideal for learning Spanish and meeting new people. Students also receive a course book in the price.
* Survival Spanish: Recommended for those students who wish to combine language learning with a study of Spanish culture in a real life situation at a steady pace. Designed for students from varied backgrounds and a range of ages. There are 22 classes a week either in the morning or the afternoon with students completing a level every 4 weeks. The course is ideal for learning Spanish and meeting new people. Students also receive a course book in the price.
Faculty Information:
All our staff are qualified, dedicated and experienced teachers who are native or bilingual speakers of Spanish. Direct Communicative Technique methods are used throughout. These are currently considered the most effective systems of broadening the students' knowledge of vocabulary, structures and idiom. Classes are normally run between Mondays & Fridays. Due to varying travel schedules, alternative arrangements can be made. Students’ level of proficiency is established through a written assessment test on the first day of school.
Other Activities:
Seville is the ideal place to experience the Spanish way of life. Students are offered a program of activities from Monday to Thursday to help them discover the city and its pastimes. The vast majority of activities are free or have a nominal fee.
* In School Activities: Free optional classes for students including lectures and talks as well as exhibitions organized by the school’s collaborators. Examples: Spanish History, Art History, Phonetics, Cinema, Spanish cookery classes, Sevillana dance classes. Other activities: Salsa classes and wine tasting.
* Off Site Activities: Guided visits to different monuments and museums in the city by our teachers. Examples: The Cathedral, Reales Alcazares (Royal Palaces), Casa de Pilatos, Hospital de los Venerables, Hospital de la Caridad, the Town Hall. SHOWS A varied selection of the most interesting shows performed at:Teatro Central,Casa de la Memoria (flamenco) and Teatro Lope de Vega, Casa de la Memoria, Teatro Lope de Vega and in our cafe bar.
* Excursions: Half-day to Italica, Santa Maria de las Cuevas Monastery and Carmona. Full day to Córdoba, Antequera, Ronda, Cádiz, the mountains in winter and the beach in summer (1 hour from Seville). These excursions take place on Saturdays and Public Holidays. We also offer weekend excursions to Granada and Morocco.
