Faculty Information:
Robert undertook extensive training in ceramics, over an 12 year period. He attended a variety of specialist courses and built experience by working in a number of highly regarded potteries, finally completing a Masters Degree at the Crawford College of Art & Design, through his research into 'Medieval Japanese Ceramics - Form and Decoration'.

The fruit of this in-depth study has been, amongst other work, a much admired body of contemporary porcelain (Robert recently represented Ireland under 30's in Ceramic Context '06, Denmark.). His work is now exhibited nationally and internationally, and can be seen at his newly established gallery and studio in Ballydehob. Recent commissions include Farmleigh House, Dept. of Foreign Affairs and the National Museum Of Ireland (Contemporary Ceramics Collection).

Robert's teaching experience includes practical tuition at the Crawford College, teaching in local schools, and conducting his own private classes.

Other Activities:
Local facilities include a golf course, scenic river walks, antique shops, a variety of old and new-world pubs, a health food shop/cafe, and a restaurant serving contemporary cuisine. The village is known for its vibrant craft/artistic community. There are beautiful walks within the village or in the surrounding countryside.

Facility Information:
Ballydehob is a picturesque village, nestled on a hillside, only a few miles from the coastal town of Schull. Robert's studio is located at the edge of the village (2 minutes walk). Local accommodation can be provided.
