We understand that Business language is one of the most problematic areas of language and requires special attention. Thus we offer two options of Business Russian Course (both aiming at gaining confidence in business communication in meetings and discussions, negotiations and presentations, telephone talks and business writing).
Course Details:
- In combination with Standard Group Course. Each week you take 20 hours of Russian Language Standard Group Course in the morning plus 10 Russian Language group business lessons in the afternoon.
* Minimum admission age: 16
* Course starts: every Monday throughout the year.
* Absolute beginners start the firs Monday of each month throughout the year.
* Minimum course duration: 1 week
* Levels available: A2-C1
* Timetable: Mon.-Fr., 9.30a.m – 3.30 p.m, 20 hours of Standard group course + 10 group Business lessons a week.
- One-to-one business course. This option is designed for the businessmen who need Russian language for work (e.g. Russian language for commerce, finance, management, tourism etc.) and who have very specific requirements and needs (in terms of the timetable as well as in the content and aims of the course).
* Minimum admission age: 16
* Course starts: upon request
* Minimum course duration: 1 week
* Levels available: A2-C1
* Timetable: upon request.
Faculty Information:
Our academic staff is a team of highly motivated teachers who hold professional language teaching qualifications and have gained wealth of experience from teaching Russian as a foreign language in Russian universities as well as abroad. Our staff speaks different languages and we support and help our students from the moment of receiving an application form.
Other Activities:
The recreations hall in the Russian Language School is the place to relax between classes, chatting in Russian over tee or coffee in a friendly, free and easy atmosphere with students from all over the world and school stuff.
Weekly social program, which is offered for students studying Russian language at Derzhavin Institute, has something for all students of all ages. On the first day of classes students receive an informational folder including a list of social activities for the coming week with dates and prices if any. There are visits to museums, tours in and around St.-Petersburg, parties, walks, theater trips.
Taking the students out of regular classes these activities enable them to practice Russian language in social settings and real life situations and gain an in-depth understanding of Russian language through cultural traditions. Some of the regular activities such as Russian Song Lesson, Russian Folk Art Lesson, watching Russian films are free of charge. Besides there is always something happening in St.-Petersburg and we try to keep the students at Derzhavin Institute informed on all the events in St.-Petersburg so they can enjoy them.
Facility Information:
Well-equipped classrooms at the Russian Language School reproduce the agreeable and comfortable atmosphere of the Russian 18th century mansion. There is a recreation hall and common area service, where students learning Russian language at Derzhavin Institute can have tea and coffee chattering in Russian in a free and relaxed atmosphere with students and teachers.
A computer room with free unlimited internet and e-mail access, a students’ self study area (including library with full range of study materials and literature, TV and video facilities) are also offered to all the students learning Russian language at our Russian language school.
Besides our English-speaking staff can help the students studying at or applying for our Russian language courses and programmes with booking the tickets for planes, trains, as well as organizing accommodation in St.-Petersburg.
In the info-center of our Russian Language school students can get information about individual and group excursions in St.-Petersburg and the city’s outskirts, theater and cinema visits etc.
We take great care in choosing and monitoring the accommodation we provide. Lodgings are available to students from the Sunday before the beginning of the course until the Saturday after the course. We have a wide range of accommodation options – homestays, hostels/guest houses, hotels, rented flats - and can find something to suit everyone.
