Tasting freshly baked waffles is a "must-do" in Brussels! However there are few places where you can actually see them bake the waffles right in front of you. Most shops store them and warm them up eventually which makes quite a difference in taste.

The best place to have waffles in brussels is at "Le Gâéteau de Bruxelles", located close to the main square (Place du Marché aux Herbes)at the corner of the "Rue des Eperonniers".

There are 2 different types of waffles in Belgium. The Liege waffles are thick round waffles, extremely rich and sweet, with a strong flavor of vanilla and cinamon. The other type, the Brussels waffles are rectangle, light waffles. I suggest having these with whipped cream and fresh strawberries on top.
